Welcome to Corpus Christi Sparkling City by the Bay!
Corpus Christi is a beautiful tropical city with bay front hotels and its stairway seawall is a great place to sit by the water and enjoy the view, it is also home to the architecturally beautiful building that is the Texas State Aquarium. It also has wonderful, T Heads, named for their shape, which is the largest deep water municipal marina in the state. The city has spent millions of dollars on upgrades and improvements so you can actually park your boat (or yacht as the case may be) right in the downtown marina and stay there as long as you want. There are even people who live on their boats here with sparkling downtown Corpus Christi and the Harbor Bridge as a backdrop! There are restaurants, facilities and replicas of Christopher Columbus’ ships the Santa Maria and the Pinta all on the T Heads. You can even catch a boat to take you to the Texas State Aquarium or to the Battleship U.S.S. Lexington Museum that is afloat nearby.
Corpus Christi has a growing gay & lesbian community. It is also the gateway to North Padre Island Seashore, the largest undeveloped seashore in the country, it is absolutely gorgeous.
I may be a bit biased on this because several years ago I ( I wont say how long but I was very young) I ran away to North Padre with my boyfriend at the time. We spent several weeks living out of a van right on the beach. It was a magical time with the people we met, the starlight, eating fresh seafood, swimming and sunrises that were breathtaking. I guess we were the “Boys of Summer” that year. We loved it so much we moved into an apartment close to downtown Corpus just off the Seawall where we lived for a couple years. Good times and great memories, you can make you own here!
