Okay just because we had a cool front move across most of the state does not mean summertime is over, we still have the Labor Day Weekend Festivities across the state. Some of the best places to beat the heat are: Lake Travis in Austin for Last Splash or if that’s not your forte, you could head down to the Lazy J Paradise Campgrounds (they have a nice Pool and lots of activities) or you could do what I am doing. I’m heading to the Texas Gulf Coast to a little Island called Galveston (yes its up and running and beautiful despite recent reports) 7days in Paradise and a very special Birthday Party for a very special Lady yes its true is Vicki’s Tierra time again!!
Damn its Hot in Dallas! Sunday 8-22-10 it reached 105 on Monday it Hit 107 yes it has been Sizzling during the days and the Dallas Nights are Hot too with averages in the 80`s and I don’t mean the decade, although it was a pretty Hot Decade like the 80’s this Heat wave cant last, in Fact a Cold Front Rolled in today from some place up North and the current temperature @ 6pm is 87 with a North wind at 17mph a refreshing break. Now let hope for cooler nights!!!
Well everybody, Gary’s Birthday Party was as big success we missed a few friends that were in Taos, Shreveport and in Germany but we still managed around 100 people, but the big deal was Mark & Vicki surprising Gary when they drove all the way in from Galveston what a treat!! Gary, Vicki & I went bar hoping and danced it up at the Round Up!! The food was fabulous but the best thing was having our friends around to celebrate Gary’s birthday!!
Hope everyone enjoyed my rant on prop 8. Now for those of you in the know or in Dallas and need to know, Gary Sharp’s Birthday is August 8th His Birthday Party is on Saturday August 7th at the Pub Pegasus 7pm there will be culinary delights by Doug like Caviar Pie and German Potato Salad. Doug is a gourmet cook so it should be delicious. Paul will be doing his magic with Briskets and all the Fixn’s. However, after some early celebrating Gary may have a slight black eye, and no I did not cause it!! Believe it or not it was the toilet bowl (Yuk) but the Celebration is on as scheduled!! Hope to see ya’ll There!!
Today a Federal Judge in California overturned the controversial Proposition 8 measure that barred Gays & Lesbian from getting married. They (Californians) still cant due to the appeal but this is a great victory on our road to EQUALITY. The Judge cited The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in his ruling. For those of you who have not read the Constitution, This is part of the Amendment.
